Discover the Brunel University Sports Park, where footballers aged 16 to 23 combine intensive Academy-style training with Diplomas, BTECs and Degrees, all set within a safe, vibrant environment renowned for its outstanding academic, social, recreational and residential facilities.
The Brunel University Sports Park Campus is where football and education meet for the Wealdstone FC Academy. Renowned for its excellent academic, social, recreational and residential facilities, it offers players aged 16 to 23 a genuinely outstanding environment to train, study and grow.
Every student benefits from an intensive Academy-style football programme alongside a curriculum designed to be outstanding, well balanced and creative, all delivered in a supportive, safe and caring environment.
Courses we offer:
The course options are broad. The BTEC Level 2 First Extended Diploma in Sport is a one-year programme equivalent to three GCSEs, opening the door to Level 3 study, employment or a sport-related apprenticeship. Students aiming higher can progress to the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport Coaching and Development, a two-year course equivalent to three A Levels that leads directly into coaching careers or further Higher Education study. Both are delivered by Virtual Learning UK.
For those drawn to the fitness industry, the campus offers NCFE Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Gym Instructing and Personal Training, plus a Level 2 Diploma in the Principles of Coaching, complete with an FA-accredited coaching award. Ambitious students can also work towards a Sports Coaching BSc (Hons) Degree with the Universal Centre of Sport, developing long-term planning, athlete analysis and coaching pedagogy skills for a future in the game.
Entry requirements vary by course, generally built around GCSE grades in English and Maths, though the Academy won’t let that stand in the way of a committed learner. Extra support is built in for any student still working towards a pass in either subject.
International players aged 17 and over have a dedicated pathway too, combining an intensive 19-hour-a-week English course at the Brunel University Language Centre with three training sessions a week at the Academy. Courses run from a two-week summer intensive up to a full year, with accommodation options available at Brunel and nearby locations.
For talented footballers who’ve finished education, or simply want to step away from it to focus on the game, the Academy also holds a limited number of places to train and play like a professional. These places mean four training sessions a week and full access to the Academy environment, including the player pathway from Under-19s through to the first team. Places run from one month up to a full year for players aged 18 and over.

Whichever path suits a student best, the goal stays the same: a genuine platform to succeed on the pitch and in the classroom.
